DEMILITARISING THE NURSERY
Received Thursday, 7.35 p.m. LONDON, June 26. A conference at Hamburg between German teachers and toy manufacturers was in favour of demilitansing the nursery because delegates maintaijied that lead soldiers, uni.forms for toddlers, toy rifles, model guns and submarines had been a factor in encouraging militarism in German youth. The toymakers asked the teachers to decide what figures should repiace the traditional toy soldier.
