MAORI TOURING TEAM MAY PLAY HOROWHENUA Advice from the New Zeaiand Rugby Footbail Union that it was oroposed tb cqmpose a Maori tourlng team to play seven games, commencing on August 27, was received by the Horowhenua Rugby Union's management committee at its last meeting. The letter added that- an. itinerary was being compiled, and asked that the Horowhenua Union advise if it would be willing to play fhe team on either a Saturday or mid-week day between August 27 and the end of September. It also requested the union to 'submit by August 11 a list of eligible Maori players available for seleetion for Ihe Maori teqm. The secretary was' instruCted tp advise the New Zeala'nd Union that Wednesdays, September 10, 17 "and 24, and. Saturdays, September 1$, 20 and 27, were available for the playing of such a match. The matter of possible Maori players from Horowhenua was referred to the union's selector.
