A fine of 5s was- Imposed on the Foxton Club by the management committee of the Horowhenua Rugby Union, at a meeting on Tuesday night, for failure to produce a team slip before the commencement of a game. A report from the referee, Mr. C. E. Wiseley, stated that prior to the FoxtonAthletic game, played o'n the Levin Park Domain, Foxton failed to produce the slip When requested. New Railway ^Vorks As if in aefiahce of the 'Minister of Works' ten-'year plan and the provision for' the removal of the Palmerston rNorth railway station to its new site, .additions to 'the existing facilities at the station are well under way. The front of the main station building is at present being extended by some six feet to allow of more working room for the staff, and four new 13,000gallon locomotive oil fuel tanks are being installed near the locomotive sheds. Drowned in Deep Water Mr. James Roadley, aged aboiit 30, of "The Reef" property, Pelorus Sound, was drowned yesterday afternoon when he fell overboard from a small boat in deep water off the beach. Full details are unavailable 'but it is understood that Mr. Roadley had just returned to "The Reef" after a trip to North-west Bay. A fairly heavy sea was running and so far the body is unrecovered. "The Reef" is about 20 miles 'from .Havelock. Labour Party Dance Adverse weather conditions failed to affect -the attendance at the dance of the Levin -branch Of the New Zealand Labour Party last night, which was conduGted under the able direction of Mr. R. .Murray. To the music of a;professional orchestra, dancing continued till midnight, interspersed with .. im- ' -promptu items by members of the orchestra. An excellent supper was provided by the women's committee, comprising Mesdames McKinstry, Nicol, Mills, .Hillman, Green, J. Carmichael and Burling.
