MR. G. A. MONK'S SERVICE TO POWER BOARD Appreciation of the work oi Mr. G. A. Monk, late chairman of the Horowhenua Electric Power Board, was expressed yesterday by fhe new chairman, Mr. T. G. Vincent, and board members. It was decided that Mr. Monk's 'seryice to the board be placed on record. One of the main regrets of Mr. Monk was that he was not to be in office "when the board's new building WUs efedted, said Mr. Vincent. Ten .years had elapsed since fhe decision to build was first made, and it appeared as if it would be softie time yet before the buildihg Was Started. He considered it would be a fitting gesture, hoWever, to invite Mr. Monk to lay fhe foundation stone when th§ necfe'ssary permit to build was unafiiblously upheld by all members.
