A national ban against Charlic Chaplin's latest film, Monsieui Verdoux," is urged by 325 Ohic • Cinefna owners. They denounced Chaplin for again trying to reach . into. the pockets- of American citizenship. Independent theatre owners in Ohio adopted a resolution that Chaplin, through his persona conduct, had drawn condemnatior on the American film industry ahd. that screen time should not be dissipated on such a p'ersonality. They argued that screen time •should.be withdrawn from the new Chaplin film, "until he again prpv'es 'he is worthy'of the support of . American filmg'oers." The cost 'td ' produce "Monsieur Verdoux" was two :million dollars.
