PRODUCTION BUOYANT IN U.S.

The Bureau of Labour Statistics reported that production and employtnent in the United States has reached higli plateaux and there is no falling off m sight. The employment of wage workefs in non-farm jobs during May stayed at the record level of 42,000,000 with uneniployment nnder 2,000,000. The weekly earnings in the mauufacturing industries reached a reeord average of 4S.8o cents with the average worlcing week down to 40 hours 24 ininutes.
