SOME MISUNDERSTANDING.
AUCKLAND, June 17. ''There must be some misunderstandixig soinewhere as we believe that our information regarding the availability of a 30,000 kilowatt turbine plant with control gear and transformers, is correct," stated Mr. Cliiford E. Smitli, presideht of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, tonight. The San Prancisco Chamber of Commerce which had supplied details of the available plant, was a reliable souice and was in full possession of the techuical requirements of generating gear needed for New Zealand. It had recently cabled to the
Auckland Chamber asking for more details about the voltage on the high side of the transformers. It seems extraordinary that San Prancisco should ask for tliese figures if there was only a turbine available," added Mr. Smith who said the Auckland Chamber had given additional speciflcations and was now awaiting a reply from Ameriea. The price originally quoted by ' San Prancisco for the plant was between 2,500,000 and 3,000,000 dollars which would indicate a complete unit.
