Here are the rea'sons — " This was the text of an announcement heard by a Wellington resident .on the wireless on Sunday night. The resident said the announeeraent was made about 8.05 p.m. from a wavelength close to 2YA. The message was quite c.lear on the air but he "thought .the vvhole thing was a jolce because the reasous for deelaring war were silly auyway. An offieial of the Post and Telegraph \ Bepartment said no reports of fhe ' broadcast had been received but it was not unlikely. "We have been liaving tr.ouble from people* who bouglit transihitting sets from the War Assets Realisation Board. The majority of the s.ets have a- limited range so it is unIjkely the broadcast was heard over a wide area if it came from ohe'of these sets. ' '
