RAUMATI BOWLING CLUB

The anniial meeting of the Raumati Bowling Club will be held on June 28, when a notice of motion will be put forward that fees for 1 ordinary members be £4 14s reduceable to £4 4s if paid in advance, associate, members £1 11s, social members 10s and visitors 7s 6d per week or 1s per game. The following nominations have been received for officers:-^— President: Mr. W. Bromley; hon. secretary: Mr. Stan Moffatt; hon. treasurer: Mr. S. Cummins; delegate to centre: Mjr. G. Cox; vicepreside'nt: Dr. Paterson; assistant secretary: Mr. B. Lankshear; green superintendent: Mr. F. Tyrer; hon. auditor: Mr. G. Hardon. Additional nominations will be received at the meeting. The annual report to be submitted regrets the loss of an esteemed member, Mr, E. Alderson. Through his death the club suffered a deep loss. "Membership is as follows: Ordinary 76, associate 28 and social 15. The green throughout the season has been in excellent order, while the club regrets the resignation of Mr. J. Gardner as greenkecper. Mr. A. Alexander will- carry on. Thanks are extended to Mr. J. Eggers, who attended to the refreshments on behalf of the club. Thanks are also accorded to the many ladies who so willingly assisted. "During the season the club paid social visits to several clubs, while visits from outside clubs have been welcomed. The club's tournatnents have been most successful. The club is the holder of the Country pennants, but lost the Kapiti Shield to Paekakariki. It is hoped that the clubhouse.will be enlarged, and a verandah added, a sum of £56 having been ear-marked for the purpose of improvement." During the year entrance fees. totalled £33, subscriptions £273, donations £34 and tournaments £46. The bank balanee is £90. Expenses included labour £194, maintenance £43, telephone, stationery, ete., £37, rates £10, refreshments on special days £22, Wellington Centre £42, debenture interest £31, sundry expenses £26, badges and trophies £15 and plant and equipment £145.
