LORD MONTGOMERY'S TOUR
BUSY TIME IN DOMINION By Telegraph-Press Association WELLINGTON, June 13. Tlie itinerary for the visit to New Zealand of Field Marshal Lord Montgomery, Cliief of the Imperial Generai Gtall, was announced today by tne Prime Minister (Mr. Fraser). Lora Montgomery while in Wellington will have discussions with the Government and chiefs of staff and later with the Arniy autlforities at Army Head^uarters. A very compreliensive programnie has been arranged for Lord Montgomery who will arrive at Ohakea on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 1(5, and wiL leave from Whenuapai at the conciu sion of his tour on July 31. His . engagements include a numher of visitn to disabled servicemcn 's institutions and meetings with returned men m various parts of the country. Lord Montgomery will be met on liis arrival at Ohakea by a rt presentative of the Governor-General (Mir Bernard Freyberg), bv the Minister of Defence (Hon. F. Jones) an-d by the- chiefs oi staff. He will motor " to Wellington where he will stay at Government House. His Wellington engagements on Thursday, July 17, will include a Pres; conference at Government House, a call on the Prime Minister and discussions with the Government, a State luncheon and then discussionk with the chiefs oi ' staff. On the 18th he will visit Trent ham military camp, attend a eivic re ception in Wellington, visit the dis abled servicemen 's training centre ano attend a services' reception. Lord Montgomery will leave Welling ton on fhe 19th by air for InvercargiL and visits will subsequently be paid to Dunedin, Oamaru, Timaru, Christchurch, Westport, Hokitika, Grey mouth, Nelson, Blenheim, New Plymouth, Ohakea, Wanganui, Palmerston North, Napier, Hastings, Gisborne, I Rotorua, Hamilton and Auckland, | » j
