The Government acted touay follow ing representations to Mr. Chifley h\ , the New Boyth Wales Trades and Labour Council whieh pointed out tha' costly litigation and possibly a Bt.at"wide tie-up would follow the invalida tion of the Btate law. . In Sydney todav the State Ministei (J\j4- Haiiiiiton Ivnight) said that all State Government euiployees would work the 40-hour wdek even if they were under Federal awards.
