Two Sure Marks / "How is the CORSO appeal going?" asked the Mayor (Mr. Podmore) of the town clerk (Mr. Trueman) .at a recent meeting of the Foxton Borough Couneil, "I received a donatio'n of £3 3s this morning," replied the clerk. "Good!" said the Mayor. "From Woolpacks, I suppose?" . "No," replied Mr. Trueman, "From the Mayor!" Foxton's War Memorial Information concerning subsidies on community cemres was before the Foxton Borough Council at its meeting on Monday evening, and eaused the councillors to comment on the interest being evinced in Shannon in this connection. The Mayor (Mr. H. H. Podmore) stated that he sincerely hoped the Foxton Chamber of Commerce would get busy on a war memorial for the town.
