MANY SEATS EMPTY AT MUSICAL FESTIVAL

I.ONDON, June 9. Tkree-cpiarters of the seats were empty wlien th'e Harringay Arena, the biggest hall in Britain, turned over from sport to music for the London ntusif'al festivSI. ' : At any major boxing match all o+" the 11,000 seats at Harringay are frequently sold at from one guinea to twentv guineas each, but only 4000 seats "at from ls to 10s each" were sold when the festival opened with Sir Thomas Beecham conducting the Royal Philharmonic prchestra in "William Tell" Overture, Mr. Jack- Hy.tton, theatrical producer, and Mr. S. ,P. .Gentle, chairman of tlie Harringay Arena Company, who i« sponsoring the musieal . festival said, "The festival ,'will go on for. a month, even if we are the only two people in the front seats to listen to it."
