DIFFICULT JOB OF TOWING DOCKS

Received Wednesday, 7 p.m. LONDOK, June 11. One of the most difficult towing operations eondueted by the Royal Navy, is now nearing completion with the approach to the English Channel of three large fioating docks, two of which have been towed from India and one from Gibraltar. The fourth, which eame from the Far East, has been left at Alalta. After the three docks, which are jjeing towed by Admiralty tugs, left Malta, an easterly gale caused two ■towing ropes to snap and two of the docks drifted h.elplesslv in heavy seas. The task of bringing the three docks, through the Suez Canal presented many diffieulties and on many oc-easions violent yawing brdught them close to the concrete pylons of the canal. Two of them went gground and Ijad to be refloated. Oue dock is bound for Devonport, oue for Chatham and one for Rosvth.
