Received Tuesday, 10.20 p.m. SYDNEY, June 10. In a, game played under windy 'conditions at the Sydney Showgrounds this afternoon, the All Blacks defeated a New South Wales fifteen by 26 points to 17. Though it had its brilliant moments tthe game was a patehy one revealing 'mistakes by both sides. The All Blaeks seored five tries, eonverted four and kicked a penalty, against three tries, one conversion and two penalties registered by their opponents. The win was a narrow one considering the fact that the Australian team was a second string one eontaining no players pieked for the first Test. A notable fact was that the New South Wales pack won 21 of 29 decisive scrums and more tha n held their own in the lineouts. • ' 0 The All Blaeks' display in the first half was quite impressive in that .they lost the toss and faced the disadvantage of a blustering westerly wind and low sun. The ground was in poor shape with sandy patches in which the ball wejit dead. Nevertheless the All Blacks piled up 13 points in the first half and appeared to be going much better than in the second. The teains were as follow: — New Zealand; Full- back, Webster; three-quarters, Argus, Goddard, McLean; five-eighths, P. Smith, Couch; half-back, Bevan; forwards, Thornton, xVrnold, White, Willocks, Dalton, Connollv, MeCormick, Simpson. New South Wales: Full-back,_B. Percival; three-quarters, R. Nation, A. Fitzsimons, W. Marsden, P. Preston; five-eighth, N. Emery; half-back, K. Cawsey; forwards, A. Dennett, J. Stenmark, J. MceKllar, N. Shehadie, D. Kraefft, J. Turnbull, D. Furness, E. Davis.
