CHRISTCHURCH, June 10. "A most inconsistent crowd, " was the description applied to the Council of the N.Z. Football Assoeiation. by Mr. R. Mr. Smith-said that Canterbury players who had travelled to Wellington for the matches had not been met on arrivai and that no hotel accommoda tion had been arranged. One piayer had not been given a game at all, said Mr. Sinith, and several others had had to play under adverse conditions. "I don't think our players got a fair ehance at all. 1 hope the organisation for the South Africans' tonr will be better than this," Mr. Srnith said. The President (Mr. J. E. Jones) said that while he agreed with Mr. Smith's views he did not think anything should be done until the test team was announeed. The N.Z. Council 's organisation of the South Africans' tour would be a flop, predicted Mr. J. Smith. He condemned t'he selectors' action of not announcing the test side until after the first game had been played against Auckland. ' A member: The team is probably picked already. Mr. Jones: "I'm qnite satisfied that it is. " The meeting decided to defer any action until the test team was announeed.
