The Moslem League has accepted the British plan for a divi'aefd Only one of seven speak- /. at a meeting of the league to eonsider the matter opposed acceptance of the plan. The president of the league, Dr. Jinnah, is reppTted to have told the delegates that he .accepted Dominion 'status for Pakistan (a separate Moslem state) for the transition period only, It was for the Constituent Assembly of Pakistan to decide whether or not Pakistan would remain , ih the Birtish Commonwealth. rThe leaders, .after 'the adjourn^ment of the meeting, predicted that the council would adopt the plan. A few minutes after the Moslem League had accepted the British plan, twenty Khaksars (Moslems opposed to Dr. Jinnah's Moslem League) tried to force their way into the.ballroom of the Imperial Hotel, wher-e the league meeting was being held. The police fired tear ,gas bombs ancf only one Khaksar reached the eonference room, but was ejected. Hotel residents, with tears streaming down their faces, elbowed their way 'through the battlin'g Moslem League guards. Khaksars and police. The hotct lo'bby was spattered with blood.
