AUCKLAND, June 8. The present day military outlook emphasised the need for. integration between the three services,. said Air Vice Marshal A. de T. Nevill, chief of the New Zealand Air Staif, in discnssing his visit to England after his return by Tasman fiying boat on Saturday afternoon. Air ,Vice Marshal Nevill, with Major Crene/al N. M. MeD. Weir, who is expected to return to Auckland by air on Tuesday, represented New Zealand at the regular half-yearly inter-services staff conference held early in.May by the Chief of the Imperial General Staff, Field Marshal Viseount MontgomeTy. The large scale exercises which followed the conference, dealt with overseas expeditions, said Air Vice Marshal Nevill, and one of the major lessons one could learh from them was the need for the very closest cooperation between the three lighting services in peace as in war and from the point of view of operations, supplies and administration. Major General Weir and he then attended a senior officers' course lasting a week, at the air support schoo! at Salisbury, wliich deals with support of the arm-y and navy , by the Air Force. They left London on May 28 and spentj three davs at Singapore, having discussions with the , Commanders-in-ehief of the South,- East Asia Coinmand ivho were interested ' in ' infonning them of their organisation and problems facing them in South East Asia today.
