Received Thursday, 11,40 a.m. NANKING, June 4. The Foregin Office announced today that Russia and China have exchanged .protests against wh.at i.ach described as hostile, reports. The Saviet Amb&,ssador complained of alleged organised Wmte Russian reactionary campaigns ied by two anti-Soviet newspapexs in Shanghai, A Tientsin Foreign Office spokesman is reported to have repiied that China would not , feolerate any anti-Soviet acti-vity by White Russians, and that local governments had been instrueted uO investigate.The spokesman also said the newspapers, magazines and news agencies within Russia had consistently circulated anti-Chinese comment in recent months, He reminded the Soviet • Ambassador that. the Chinese Government had protested several times, requesting action to "correct" news reports supporting organisations which attempted to overthrow the Chinese Government by force.
