U.S. LEAD IN COMMERCIAL FLYING

Aeronautics Board, today. He said reports that the British would soon dominate the Atlantic routes with jefpropelled liners, was simplv out oi' the ipiestion seeing that the British had not yet produced jj, eonventional y^class civil aeroplane. It was j .ntastic that she would be able to do J somethng no American manufaeturer ever succeeded in aecomplishing, name]y, "produce a revolutionary tvpo without bugs" straight from the draw ing board. Mr. Landis, testifying before the Bentate Commerce Committee, opposed a Bill for the establishment of a singh American overseas airline companv Iie said sueh a proposal was the "pafi: to socialism". Mr. Landis said: "Russian airline services are infinitelv inferior to the American. All Russian flying must he done in daylight within sight of the ground. ' '
