NAPIER, June 4. Bags of seeond class mai! desfeined for Gisborne and the East Coast were rifled in a railway wagon standing in Wairoa station yards during the weekend. The van was fareiblv entered and nu'merous pareels and packages opened after the seals had been torn from the bags. The eontents of many pareels were strewn over the van floor. The fact that the van had been entered is understood to have been discovered when the van was. being ineluded in a train for Gisborne on Monday. The post office authorities at Napier are unable to say if any goods in thb pareels were stolen, hut said that no letter mail o.r reHstered mail was interfered withThe police are investigating.
