COMMUNISTS CAUSE TROUBLE IN POLA
■JReceived Mondav, 10 p.m. LONDON, June 1. • Three days ' rioting in Pola cnlmin ated in an attempt to oust the remainder of the Italian population from the town by the simple expedient of cutting them off from their food supply, says The Times' Trieste correspo'ndent. Women after the demonstrations, ostensibly staged in protest against the high costs of living, smashed several Italian food stores and picketed the remainder. The correspondent adds: "It is obvious that pro-Yugoslav organisations are attempting to force the remaining Italians to premature evaeuation and to place the Allied Military Government in the position of having no men available for Pola's adinlnistration except those the Communist Party recommends.
