"I am a soldier not a farm.r, hut I've learned during my life that it ig posfibie to apply the rules for suceess in war — let us see if we can relate them to farming," - said Field Marshai Lord' Montgomery addressing the National Feitration of Young Farmers' Clubs. Lord Montgomery then gave the following ten rules: Firstly: Think and plan well aheaij. Secondly: Sort out essentials and let them form the framework of any action you take. Thirdly:'Let every oue know what you are trying to achieve. Fourthly: Having desided what you want to do, do it and don't v/obhle. Fiftly: StUdy the human factor. * 'Tis the man that matters not the machine. Sixthly: Be a good judge of men. Seventhly: If you've a w©ak member m-the team develo.p h'is good "qualities rather, than concentrate upon his weak points. The gardener who spends all his time digging up weeds will never grow vegetables. Highthly: Go for simplicity in all things. Ninthly: Don't worry yourgelf.
