It's a boy, Kfenton, for the Chester Morrises; both mother and son are reported to be doing well. Gene Kelly, who has started work on "The Pirate," is said to look like a young John Gilbert with his black curly wig and moustache. Linda Darnell is going to Europe without her husband, Peverell Marley, but denies that their recently renovated marriage ,is crumbling agafn. Linda said /hat when she comes back at the end of June, she and Pev. will begin building their ranchnouse, at Taos, in New Mexico. Wallace Ford's trial for drunken driving brought forward so much eonflicting evidenee that the .udge has called a recess to look bver the site of Ford's car smash. Ford himself claims that whiskers, not whisky, caused him to lose control of'his car. He says that he beard he had grown for a character role "flew into his eyes." The judge's decision will.be made this mo'xith. Singer Jane Frazee won her divorce from Glenn Tryon last week, because Tryon had a trying habit of speaking out of turn. Two )f Tryon's remarks, quoted by Mrs. Tryon to a sympathetic judge: "I jhouldn't have married you in the first place. My mother doesn't care for living in our home." Jane gets the custody of their 13-monith-old ' son, Timothy. The most talked of two-some in Hollywood today are Rita Hayvorth and David Niven. Fifteen-year-old Elizabeth Tayor and 19-year-old Marshall Thompson are a romantic young :ouple. They have shared several dates. Elizabeth, the most beautiful young thing in films, goes next into M.-G.-M.'s "Killer McCoy" with Mickey Rooney. . Peggy Cummihs does delightful Vnd charming work as the daugh--,er in her -first American picture, Fox's dramatisaticrn of "The Late George Apley." Ronald Colman and Edna Best play Peggy's parents, Richard Ney is her brother, Vanessa Brown her cousin and Charles Russell the Harvard professor whom she marries in the 3nd. Peggy on this auspicious debut, should go far in American ilms.
