EVACUATING' AUSTRALIANS FROM INDIA
CANBERHA, May 80. The Commonwealth Governnient wii make the troopship Manoora available to bring 14,000 Australiaus and British subjects from Iiulia. Tho ship will makc two voyages bctween ludia and Freeinantle. The Minister of lminigiu tion (Mr. Cal'well ) said that first pieference would be given lo Australiaus, partieularly women and children. The remainiug passages would go to United Kingdom people in India wlio wanted to settle in Australia. The vossel goes to Freinaiille for stores next week before leaving for India and is expeeted lo reaeh Fremantle again with the hrst partv of returuing passengers early tn •fi'ly.
