EMPIRE TALKS AT CANBERRA ON PEACE TREATY
Received Saturday, 9.35 a.m. v LONDON, May 30. .« Mr. At'tlee has informed Mr.. Chifley that Britain. agrees to Mr. Chifley's - proposal for an Empire conference at Canberra this summer to .consider the terms of the Japanese peace treaty. _ The conference is . likely to decide that a full-scale peace conference of all the natiohs which fought against Japan should be called at an early date. Reuter's says that Britain's agreement is conditional on the holding of the conference in August. The- Mimster of State, Sir Hector McNeil, would attend the conference subject- to the same condition^
