PARK ROSE BOWL GOLF

FIRST ROUND TO COMMENCE THIS WEEK . The medal round played by the ladies' section of the Levin Golf Club last week was won by Mrs. F. Ryder with a nett 76. Thc first round for the Park Rose Bowl will begin this week. The draw is as follows: Mrs. Alexander and Mrs. M. Wilson, Mrs. Wilcox and Mrs. Frederikson, Mrs. Richards and Mrs. McClune, Mrs. Denton and Mrs. Corry, Mrs. Scott and Mrs. J. Black, Mrs. Ryder and Mrs. Hunter, Mrs. H. Black and Mrs. Standen and Mrs. Cameron and Miss Nalder. Players are asked to co'ntact their ■partners, as there will be no competition this week and it is -hoped that as 'many .matehes as possible will be completed on Wednesday. The following , have bycs and will play in the second round-:... -.Miss Hosie and Mrs, Clarke, Miss Phil-. lips and Miss "Herrick,, Mrs. King and Mrs. Franklin and Mrs. Porter and Mrs. Ijong. \ The .draw for the fntermediates is as follows! Mrs. Coutie and Miss Bevan, Mrs. H. Bull and' Mrs. Ridley, Miss Hudspn and Mrs. Lestcr and Mrs. Bonner and Miss N. Walker. The follotying will play at the weekend: MrsJ Corry and Miss P. Todd, Miss Evison and Miss McMinn, Mrs. Brcjwn.and Miss Kilsby and Miss Franklin and Miss A. Todd. Anyone unable to play is asked to advise Mrs. Frederikson. There seems to be some confusion regarding the penalty for a lost ball in the drain crossing the first fairway, and the following is the rule. The pe'nalty is two strokes; for example if the ball is lost on the second stroke the player must go baek and play the fifth. All players are reminded that the entries for the tournament to be held on Monday, June 2, close on Thursday of this week. Mrs. Cameron and Mrs. Standen will be on tea duty this week.
