WINNERS OF LADIES' GOLF UNION MATCHES
AUCKLAND, May 26. Mrs. A. D. Latham, of the Hammer Springs Golf Club, and Mrs. J. H. JMeDougall, of Otago, won the Coronation Medal and Aotearoa Cup respectively in the competitions eondueted by the Ladies' Golf Union throughout New Zealand in the week from May 4 to 10. The Coronation Medal is open to players with handicaps of 18 and under and the Aotearoa Cup to players with handicaps above 18. Mrs. Latham 's score was 76 — 12 — 64, four strokes under the scratch score of the course. The next best eards were those of Miss M. Beverley (Matamata) 88 — 18 — 70, tlie scratch score being 73; Mrs. A. Cramond (Belleknowes) 77 — 16 — 61 (64), and Mrs. J. Hutchinson (Poverty Bay) 86 — 16—70 (73). Mrs. McDougall's score in the Aotearoa Cup was 101 — 36 — 65, nine strokes under the serateli score, and Mrs. F. G. Coxhead (bt. Clair) 101—36—65 and Miss D. Burton (Roxburgh) S4 — 22 — 62, whose scores were both eight under scratch, were runners-up.
