ON THE RIFLE RANGE

LEVIN CLUB SHOOTS UNDER GOOD CONDITIONS Members of the Levin Defence Rifle Club fired ten shots at each of the. three short ranges on Saturday. The conditions were again favourable and the standard of shooting good. Possibles were returned at 500 yards by J. L. Graham and F. Catley. Catley, after a bad beginning at 300 yards, dropped only f our points for the day. In the "own start" competition those wbo judged their handicaps correctly were: — 300 yards: M. P. Fleteher 47 — 3 — 50, 1 ; R. Cole '45— 5 — 50, 2; P. J. Graham 47 — 3 — 50, 3. Counted out: F. Catley 47 — 3— 50. 500 yards: F. J. Graham 48— 2 — 50, 1; S. C. Aanensen 49 — 1 — 50, 2; R. Cole 45—5—50, 3. 600 yards: S. L.'. Lumsden 48 — 3 — 49, 1; F. Catley 49 — 2 — 49, 2; F. J. Graham 48 — 3 — 49, 3. Counted out: C. Tait (one bull finish), D. Mclntosh (4), and F. Bryce (2). Members of the Levin Club taking part in the South Taranaki championships on Monday next are S. Aanensen, R. Cole, P. R. and F. R. Catley, M. Fleteher, J. L. and F. J. Graham, J. G. and Jim Horn, S. Lumsden, E. J. McLeavey and R. Kelston. Scores returned, on Saturday at the 300, 500 and 600 yards ranges, together with the total, were as follows : F. Catley 47—50—49—146, S. C.
