LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

"CONSUMER."

ELECTRICITY RESTRICTIONS Sir, — Can you please tell my why Otaki is penalised over the Weekends in only having .the waterheaters switched on from Friday night until Sunday morning, whereas in the city they are allowed from Friday night until Monday mornings? It would not be so bad if the waterheaters were on continuously over our very short period allowed, but when they are cut off with the regular daily power cuts, the "weekend hot water system" is scarcely worth mentioning. It is to be hoped that the increase mentioned in the papers, to become operative this week, will provide some measure of relief in the hot water systems in private houses, particularly those who are on the automatic switch. Yours etc..

Otaki, May 24.
