Trees Obscure View Evidence was given at the inquest on Friday into the death of Francis Joseph Foley, which resulted when the car he was driving was struck by a train recently, that a group of trees along the railway line near the crossing between Paraparaumu and Waikanae stations obstructed the view of the crossing for a motorist travelling south. A recommendation that the Railways Department exercise its powers for the removal of sufficient trees to give a view of the line south of the crossing to persons travelling from the south, was made by the coroner, Mr. Mellish. A verdict was return"^d that death was caused by multiple injuries received when the car Foley was driving hit a train.
