HUGE COST OF WEEK'S ARSON IN LAHORE
Received Saturday, 10.10 a.m. NEW DELHI. May 23. Arson during the past week nas caused £1,000,000 worth of damage to property in Lahore. A total of 150 buildings were burnt out, mcluding twelve Hfndu and Sikh temples, and the 100-year-old residtnce of the Rajah of Sheikhapura, who is one of the oiggest landlords in the Punjab. It is reported that 5000 Hindus are leaving Lahore daily for safety in the adjoining provinces. Their flight is causing an aciae luDour shortage in Lahore.
