GOING WAS PERFHGT FOR YESTHRDAY'S FINAL TRIAJbS Ilorses racing at Foxton were giveh their iinal gallops under ideal conditions and the going on the eourse proper, where the flags were over 60 t'eet out, was perfect. There was plenty of fast worlc" and a* good deal of jumping both over the steeplechase fences and the hurdles. Among the 'uorses which worked particular ly weli were Theiolvn, Rink, Currency Lass, Tremello and Cramond Bay on the flat, Tuatara and Eed Rocket over the in side "country" and Peach King over the hurdles. Tlieiolyn (D. Amey) went with Rink (A. Bowness) over a mile and they were home strongly in better than 43 to coniplete in 1.64 1-5. Theolateral (J. Garth) and Roto Parera (L. J. Clulterbuck) also worked over a mile and tliey fmislied well within themselves' When running the last tliree in 42 3-5 and the mile in 1.56. Arco and Incision were in front of Inch Cape at the eiid of a mile run in 1.56, and they were home really well In 42. Tremello and Cramond Bay were companioiis over seveu and they cut the last threo out in 41 4-5 to completc in 1.38 2-5. . . Yasda (C. Eley) and Nanaaki (Y. J. Sellars) sprinted home from the three in 40 3-5.
Kahuraponga and Royal Duce were going along easily together at the end of five run in 1.10 2-5. The last threo took them 42. Tribute and Newel Post broke 42 for the last three of live cut out in 1.9 4-5. Currency Lass (S. Waddell) maintained an even pace over five in 1.7 1-5 and she was still going on with it at the finish. Dutch Mary (R. Saunders) worked attractively over seven, the last five in 1.10 3-5. .She worked well. Mary Jo (D. Collins) and Samoci (Sellars) were avvay from a barrier start at the seven and they broke 40 for the fij'st three furlongs along the back. They were timed to run the first lialf mile in better than 54 and the five — they were pulled up at tlm straight entrance — in better than 1.7. Nanook (Clutterbuck) worked with Old Doolev (Saunders) and Ubbriaco (Garth j over live but the others drew away in the straight to complete in l.l'O 4-5, the last three in 41 2-5. Over the Country One of the best efforts over the big fences inside the oval was that of Red Rocket (P. Gray) and Tuatara (N. Rouse). They went away with Royal Melton (W. Rout) but Royal Melton hit the first r'ence and dislodged his rider. The other two went on to give a good display of fast jumping over ten flights. Rout remounted Royal Melton later and comiileted the task — twice round. Peach King gave a very fine exhibition over the schooling hurdles, twice round. Air Pier jumped six flights, and Gold Money Song went twice round. Moderate worked with Light Fair over a mile on the plough in 1.50, the last three in 43 3-5. He worked well. C. A. Bowry: Shenandoah. N. Andrews: Light Fair, Roti Parera. W. Rout: Legal. One seratching is required if the Foxton Cup is not to be run in divisions. If the race is run in divisions the total prize money will be increased to £600,. the winner of each division will get £250, the s'econd horse £35 and the third £15. There are 21 acceptors for the Moutoa Hack Handicap and two scratchings are required to avoid divisions.
