Personal Mr. and Mrs. N. N. Barron, who have been on holiday, arrived home yesterday. Mr. J. J. Maher, M.P., was appointed as the Hut>t County Council representative on the Wellington City and Suburban Water Board at- a meeting of the council held on Monday. Vinc. Bevan, who has been chosen as an All Black to visit Australia, was a residemt of Otaki for many years and learned his early football here., His many friends will be pleased to hear of his success. Power Restrictions Owing to no notice having been given about the cutting off of electric power, the matinee at the Civic Theatre yesterday was held up for some considerable time, and many would-be patrons failed to wait. Refreshment rooms, as well as many others, were also greatly inconvenienced. Holiday Dance An enjoyable holiday ■ dance, organised by a committee of All Saints' Ladies' Guild, was held recently in the Paris Hall, which was beautifully decorated with autumn flowers, flags and greenery. Mr. Sharp provided the music, with extras kindly given by Mrs. Purvis. The president of the guild, Miss Holmes, acted as hostess and Mr. John Fry as M.C. The committee provided a delicious supper. -
