MARKET REPORT

Messrs. Townsend and Paul, Ltd., fruit and produce merchants, Wellington, report that the market in general has shown a tendency to rise, due to a slackening off of supplies in lines which have been in oversupply. Copious supplies of tomatoes, tree tomatoes, passionfruit, piemelons, cauliflowers, carrots, parsmps, swedes and cabbage have been coming to hand, while lines being keenly sought include all citrus fruit, Chinese " goseberries, quineCs, peaches, cape gooseberries, grapes, beans, peas, goo.d quality corn, rhubarb and cucu'mbers. Well filled pens of poultry have met with an ' exceptionally 1 keen demand, good quality birds of all breeds realising excellent prices. Supplies of flowers • have been better, with a sharp rise in prices, varleties in demand mcluding cainations, chrysanthemums, vioiets and poppies.
