Received Wednesday, 10.50 a.m-. LONDON, May 1& Sir Hastings Ismay's return tc India has been postponed to enable further consideration of tht points in procedural plan, says Reuter's political correspondent. Observers say that the latest situation in India clearly indicates , the urgent need to close the Indian ' political ranks — if not in agreement at least 011 the basis of agreement to disagree, thus ending the present dangerous state of affairs. The Times' New Delht correspondent reports that Indian newspapers express dismay and disappointment regarding the postponement of the Viceroy's meeting with the Indian party leaders. The Hindustan Times says the postponement is "highly disappointing and the present state of suspense is caus'ing the disintegration of authority all over the country." The Moslem League newspaper Dawn suspects that a sinister infiuence has been at work in London or Simla to cause the postponement. It added: "Rerhembering the slippery British ways the Moslems must be wary. The favourable impression Lord Mountbatten created by forthrightness ari'd fair play may well be shattered on the rock of treachery elsewhere."
