LETTER TO THE EDITOR
FILMS SCREENED IN LEVIN ■ Sir,— I.quite a#see with the let-fc-er in "The Chgrffcle" of May » asking if anything can be done to lmprove the pictures screened at the local theatre. The price charged for admission should entitle patrons to first class pictures-, yet they are third rate. We :see 'BritiSh' pictures reviewed by the papers, but they are never •screen* herfe. We have to go to Palmerston North or Wellington to* see them. The* pictures shown m Levin ard hionotOnous and only j.ust sui-table for the schoolboy age. Where there is no competition, the grade is not maintamed. Levin is going ahead- marvellously and another up-t'o-date theatre is needed? but until the powers that be allow one we must ,put up with the present pictures and fall asleep or fi'nd our* relaxation somewhere else. Yours ete "ANOTHER OHAU-ITE." Ohau, May l'Q.
