The closing chapter in the famous Kuku Jersey stud, which since 1914 bas contributed so much towards the! im-proVement of New : Zealand dairy cattle in general- and the Jersey breed in particular, was written last week with the dispersal sale eondUcted bn behalf of the estate of the late Mr. R. L. Horn by the New Zea;land Loan and MercantiTe" Agency Company, Ltd. Established by the late Mr. R. L. HOrn, the Kuku Jersey stud is- destined- tio go down in history as being the fountain head of the outstandi-ng. Owler of Puketapu blood lines. Local breeders showed their appreciation of' tlie herd by retaining in this distriet the majority of the offering, althoffgh the priced female went to- the Auckland Province. In the face of strong outside competition, Mr.R. L. Robinson, of Manakau, paid top price of 210 guineas for a splendid type of rising bUll, KukuForest Owl. The top 15 animals of the total offering of 58 head averaged 70 guineas. The following; are the prineipal prices, to--gether with the purchasers : — * 'r * Bulls: R. L.
