Mrs. George Swan, of-Te Awamutii, is spending a holiday in Levin as the gtiest of Mrs. A. S. Macfarlane, Dtike Street. Mr. F. Driscole, of Lindsay Road, entered the Palmerston North Hospital today to Undergo an dpetation. A very well known resideht of Bulls and Carnarvon, Mr. Ernest Broughton, died in hospital in Palmerston NOrth yesterday after a somewhat lehgthy illneSs. He is a cousin of Mr. Rangi Broughton, of Levin. At the meeting of the ManawatuOroda PoWdr BOard yesterday it Was resoived that a . letter shouid be sent- to Mr, G. A. Monk, of Reikoraiigi, eohgrattilating him on his appointment to the local bodies' comrhission. ' Among those who received degrees at the recent eapping eeremony at Victoria University, Wellington, was Mr. D. S. MilneS, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Miines, The AVenue,. Levin. Mr. MilneS, who is an ex-pupil of Horowheua College, received his Batchelor of Science degree. Miss Dorothy McMinn, youiigest daughter Of Mr, and Mrs. L. McMinn, of 1 Keepa Street, who has been a member of the staff of the LeWiSham Hospital, Wellington, -for the past five years, has relinquished her position. On the eve of her departure she was made a presentatioh -by the sisters and staff.
