COLOUR BAR AND BRITISH TITLES
Received Sunday, 7 p.m. LONDON, May 10. In view of its importance to colonial relationsliip, Mr. Creech Jones' has decided to takc up the question of the colour ban in British ehampionship boxing and has asked the Boxing Boam of Control to discuss the matter with him. The Daily Mail says the Colonial Secretary's action brings to a head the moveinent to effect changes in the rigid rules about coloured men competing for British titles. Any coloured boxer can' compete for the Empire titles but the board has always takeu ' the view that as England is a small country, it is good policy to restrict the British titles to boxers- born of white parents, other wise all British titles might be gained by coloured Empire boxers.
