A total of 22,274 new British mi-> grants arrived in Australia between August 15, 1945, and January 31, 1947, said the Minister of Immigration, Mr. Calwell, in tlie House of Representatives, in reply £o a question. Foreign migrants in the same period nuinbered 2(105 of whom about 700 were refugees. rn addition 2873 British exservieemen -iiid women received their discliarges liere. Allied servicenien discharged in \ustralia numbered 821 Americans and 105 Hutelimen.
