LOCAL RIFLEMAN'S SUCCESS

STORKEY MEMORIAL WINNER The Napier Defence Rifle Club, held at Roy's Hill range last weekend, its popular Storkey Memorial. Cup shoot. The conditions were good for the beginning of the shoot, but after lunch they became patchy. The light wind over the hill behind the butts proved the undoing of quite a number of riflemen at 600 yai'ds. However, Mr. Trevor King shot well to win the cup with 101 points, closely followed by 12 other marksmen with 100 each. Mr. Trevor King is the son of Mr. T. H. King, Stout Street, Shannon, and is well known locally, having spent his young days in the town. He left for Napier upon his release from the Air Force some 18 months ago. Mr. King's scores ' were as follows: — 300 yards: 35 points; 500 yards: 33 points; 600 yards: 33 points; a total of 101 points from a possible of 105.
