ATTEMPTS TG SABOTAGE NEW SLOOP

Received Friday, 10.50 a.m. LONDON, May 8. Two deliberate attempts were made at sabotage in the engineroom of the sloop H.M.S. Snipe one month after she was completed in September, 1946, said the prosecuting officer in a naval court-martia] at Devon. The engine offlcer, whc failed to report the discovery of a substjmce like bath-brick ih the engine bearings, was severely reprimanded.
