HASTINGS, May 7. As a result oi' an inquiry iji Hastings this afternbon. into the ruimiiig of the Poverty Bay hurdles handicap at the Poverty Bay Turf Club's meeting at Gisborne on February 8, 1947, the Hawke's Bay District Ilacing Committee decided that It. C. Croft (Hastings.) owner of Plain Bov had committed corrupt praetiee under Rule 33s' •(!)■ (a). or, in the alternative, under Itule 2 (!)• (h), and under Itule 333 (2) was disqualilied for 1U years as from May 7, 1917. The eommittee also decided that Croft had committed corrupt praetiee under Itule 243 (1) and was disqualilied for three years as from May 7 1947. Other fmdings of the eommittee on the same incident were: — G. Carroll is found to havc committed corrupt praetiee under Itule 338 (1) (f) oi*, in the alternative,' under Rule 2 (1) (h), and under Itule 338 (2) is disqualilied for ten years to run from Mav 7 1947. I. C. Rohloff is found to have committed corrupt praetiee under Rule 2 (1) (h) by aiding, abetting and procuring a breach' of Itule 33S (1) (a) by R. C. Croft and Cecil Carroll, and under Rule 338 (2) he is disqualilied for ten 3rears to run from May 7 1947. S. MeGrcal: Ilaving considered the evidence the eommittee was of opinion that tliere was not enough and what there was, was not sufficiently reliable to enable it to. lintl that McGreal had committed a breach of Rule 2 (1) (h). The following resolutiou was also passed: ''The eommittee recommends that the conference executive will request its stipendiary and deputy stipendiarv stewards to take particular notice of the treatment aecorded to Max Rough 's horses during races in future and also towards any horse riddcn by N. Rouse. "
