. ■* . - • - ; ^ LARGE YARDING OF STOCK The annual cattle fair. was held at the Shannon saie yards last week in good weather, with all pens filled with first class" cattle which were a credit' to the district. "Many of the" lines were passed in, but were later sold privately. Weaner dairy heifers sold at £4 7s 6d and mixed colours at £3. Another line realised £5 2s, and mixed colours £4 10s, while Jerseys brought £5. Othpr pricds we{re: — Qtore cattle: On account of Mr. L. H. Best, 24 2^ year P.A. steers £10 2s 6d, 23 2£ year P.A. steers £7 14s; 23 as above sold at £7 14s, .whilej another line realised £8 and £9 11s. On account Mr. H. C. Easto'n, 14 P.A. heifers £7 15s and £8; 8 P.A. bullocks £10 19s. On account Mr. H. Kilmister, 25 18-month steers £6 12s 6d, 4 mixed steers £5 5s and a pen of P.A. weaner calves £2 11s. On account Mr. Best, a pen of P.A. a'nd Hereford cows £6 11s. On account Mr. R. McLange 4 P.A. cows R.W.B. £4 7s 6d.' Fat cattle: One pen of Hereford cows £10 5s, P.A. heifers £7, P.A. light cows £11. COws, ex-dairy, from £6 7s 6d to £10.
