McKillop, deserihed how he saw the Loch Ness monster on Good Friday. Mr. McKillop said he had been sceptical about the presence of a monster but these doubts were dispelled by what he had seen, "l am firmly eonvinced there is something c|uite abnormal in the depths of the loch," he said: ' -It is capablc of extraordinary speed and it creates a disturhance in the water which suggests it must be oi' immense proport-ions. "' The Rev. William Graham, another memher of the council, said he also had seen the monster on another occasioh and was glad to*have Mr. McKillop 's confirmation. There could be no more trustworthy witness. "Nobody would believe me," said the Rev. Graham. "They wouldn't even believe nie when I said I had seen it from a tearoom and not from an hotel." Yet another clerical member of the council, the Rev. Dr. Alexander Mackinnon, said he too was certain of the existence of a monster and felt sure that the testimony of the conncif's chief execntive officer could not be doubted. 11 There is a cneature in the loch despite all the seorn scientifie. men pour upon it," he said. A lighthearted suggestion by another cbuncillor that the monster should be made an hpnorary memher of the council brought • the feply from the county clerk that -there was no provision for coopting monsters under the Local Clovernment Aet.
