MINISTER NOT CONVINCING
CHRISTCHURCH, May 1. Christchurch smokers unable to obtain tke usual suppiies of their favourite bran|ls of cigarettes and tobacco, would hot be easily convinced by the statement of the acting Minister of Supply, Hon. A. H. Nordmeyer, that ' ' substantially the samd' aniount of cigarettes and tobacco had been sent to Christchurch during April as had been available there over recent months," said the -president of the Canterbury-Westland Tobaceonists ' Association, Mr. C. A. Lang, today. Mr. Lang took a Teporter to a bond store where an assurance was given that suppiies of Jhree of the inost popular and best selling cigarette tobaccos normally distribyted by retailers on April 16, had not yet come to hand. While deliveries are only delayed, added Mr. Lang, it is just the same as a deiinite cut for smokers who could not buy these brands.
