CORSO CLOTHES DRIVE

? APPEAL BY RED CROSS . The ladies of the:, Shannon- Red Cross' Society are at" present busy organising the clothes* drive for CORSO 'which is'to take place toinorrow. 'Tlie drive-is to cover the ,whole district', including Opiki, Makerua, Moutoa, Fitzherbert West, Mangaore, Buckley and Shannon. The organisers ".would be very pleased if ■ car-owners living in these districts would volunteer their services -to icollect parcels, which hOuseholders have been asked to have ready. Laurvig's Hall will b'e the depot from 10 a.m. and stickers for cars will be available, together with collectors' arm-bands for the school children who will assist these carowners who offer their services. Clean second-hand or new clothing in good: repair is urgently needed overseas. Footwear, in good- condition is also needed. CORSO is a co-ordination point for voluntary effort to meet the tragic needs of overseas relief. It is New Zealand's opportunity to give more to stricken lands • from her own privileged position in the world today. The Shannon Red Cross Society anticipates a splendid response to its appeal for clothing, and also »,o the appeal for cars to assist with the collecting. This is Shannon's opportunity to assist the stricken countries in today's tragie world. -
