POPPY DAY SALES
^ — i — NEW REGORD ESTABLISHED IN LEVIN A new record in saies was established during the recent Poppy Day in Levin and district. A sum of £134 4s 7d was raised by the sale of these emblerris and this is the highest flgure yet recorded. . The amourit was made up of saies as follows: Mrs. H. J. Lancaster and ladies, £74 17s; Levin Public SChool, £20 0s 6d; HproWhenua College, £14 13s; Ohau School, £10;- Koputaroa School, £7 10s ; Poroutawhao Schooi, £3 16s ld;- Muhunoa School, £1 5s; and R.S.A. saies and donations, £2. The executive of the Levin Returned Seryices' Association expresses its very grateful thanks to the general publiG for their contintie'd supoort of "this Worthy object, arid to the ladies and staffs arid pupils of the schools and college who gave of their time to assi&t in the sel-ling of the emblems, The proceeds of the Poppy Ddy saies are devoted eritirely to the relief of distress among ex-servieemen and their deperidents.
