WELLINGTON, April 30. Powerful, punishing leg holds of which Kuss has becomc oue of the world 's leading cxjionents, were a feature of a professional lieavyweight wrestling contest in the Town Ilall tonight in which Otto Kuss, 17st 71b, beat Tom Rice, 16st 1011), by oue fall obtained in the sixth round. The contest was niarked b}- solid rather than spectacular grappling but was distinguished by the wide variety of leg holds applied by Kuss, including the hammerlock. The fall was gained by an overhead throw, liowever, Kuss- ducking when Kicc came off. che ropes for a flving tackle, and throwing the latter hard to the mat for an easy pin.
